Between Christmas and New Year we spent a couple of days at the beautiful Coombe Abbey just outside Coventry. Unfortunately we could not take full advantage of this impressive place as Paul was unwell. However I did want to go and see Coventry Cathedral which I dtudied many years ago when I was at school.
The original catherdral was bombed in the blitz. The new one is attached and I love its modern design and architectural features. I have photos and postcards to show you if you are interested.
Getting back to arts and crafts we now stock stamps by PAPERBAG STUDIO.
Suzi B used "newsprint house" on her very simplistic card. It came out well stamped onto fabric.
STAMPENDOUS produced a very lovely lace effect stamp that Christine C has used on the following two items:-
Greeting Card:-
Book in a Box (which is another Woodware product). The outer paper mache box is covered in background paper that has been embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. The lacy stamp can be seen through the aperture which is surrounded by a MEMORY BOX die - so intricate but so beautiful. The scissors are a MARIANNE DESIGN die.
Inside, Christine's usual attention to detail.....
We now have two dates pencilled in for "PLAYDAYS"
Saturday 19th January is just a general group get together - all are welcome! Saturday 2nd February will be focused around art journalling. Come and share tips and techniques especially if you are new to it.
Usual cost applies - £2 if you stay all day. £1 for either the morning or afternoon session.
Hope to see you. CAROL:)
